Google and Yahoo Reach Ad Deal
July 4th 2008 09:21
Google and Yahoo have finally reached an agreement under which Google would deliver ads next to some Yahoo’s search results and on some of it’s websites in the United State and Canada
The ad agreement is aimed at giving a lift to Yahoo’s finances. The agreement will also strengthen Google’s dominance over the lucrative search advertising market.
The agreement was sign after Yahoo rejected a proposal by Microsoft to acquire both Yahoo’s business and a minority stake in the company. The negotiation between the Microsoft ad Yahoo appears to end after four-month-long courtship of Yahoo which finally thrown Yahoo into the arms if their biggest common rival, Google.
“Clearly, it is time to move on,” Jerry Yang said in an interview. “This agreement with Google helps us to do so.” Yang added that the deal would allow Yahoo to continue to compete in it’s two main lines of business, search and display advertising
