Garmin unveiled new-generation GPS and GLONASS tracking system for sporting dogs, the new Astro 430. The device can track up to 20 dogs at a range of up to 9 miles, and is capable of updating their location every 2.5 seconds.
The new Astro 430 is a handheld powerhouse of dog-tracking performance. Intuitive and easy to use, the Astro 430 handheld features a vibrant 2.6-inch color display with preloaded TOPO U.S. 100K mapping, an optional in-unit rechargeable battery and Hunt Metrics data to help analyze dogs’ tracking habits in the field, so you can know how to train more effectively.
The new Astro 430 features preloaded TOPO U.S. 100K mapping and a 1-year BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription FREE and plus Hunt Metrics dog performance data to help analyze your dog’s tracking patterns and behaviors.
This new handheld also includes an enhanced Hunt Metrics dog performance data like distance traveled, time afield, and an automatic accounting of how many times your dog has treed or pointed game – valuable statistics in evaluating a dog’s performance.
In addition, the new Garmin Astro 430 works with the Garmin Fenix 3 watch. You can have your Astro 430 in your vest, in your pocket, clipped, or back pack to you and get notifications, alerts, and dog status right to you wrist, making hunting with your hounds easier with movement and move flexiblity on the go.
The new Astro 430 is compatible with the following dog devices (receivers): Big T 5, DC 50, Mini T 5, Big TT 15, or Mini TT 15. The Astro 430 and DriveTrack 70 LMT will be available in July 2016.
