Gigabyte recently announced the launched of its first XTREME GAMING series high-end power supply, the XP1200. A new range of power supplies aimed at gamers. The new Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming XP1200M power supply delivers up to 1200W of 80 PLUS Platinum efficient power.
This PSU is designed for PCs that contain multiple GPUs in a high-end system with all power coming from a single 12V rail in order to provide ‘the amazing power output, stability, and compatibility’.
All the cables with this PSU will come in fully black and are all fully modular, the PSU comes with a 140mm 2 ball bearing Smart Fan. The speed of the smart fan is adjusted according to the automatic power detection.
Durability sounds good on paper, as the Power Supply has a quoted MTBF of over 100,000 hours, and the Japanese capacitors which have a lifespan of 20 years, or 4 times longer than a “conventional” capacitor. The aforementioned Smart Fan is also extra durable thanks to it’s double ball bearing construction. Various protections are implemented, such as OVP/OPP/SCP/UVP/OCP/OTP and the PSU works along with an input voltage of 100-240V, input current of 10A, and electrical frequency of between 47-63Hz. The new Xtreme Gaming XP1200M power supply measures D180 x W150 x H86mm.
The XP1200M PSU is also equipped with a single 24-pin ATX connector, two 4+4-pin EPS connectors, six 6+2-pin PCI-E power connectors, twelve SATA/eight molex/two molex-to-berg connectors and a 140 mm cooling fan, which stays below 20 dBA, when the load is under 720W. The noise level goes up to the 30 dBA at 1000W load and to 35 dBA at full load.
